I was raised in the great state of Idaho as the son of a planing mill owner. I loved working with my hands (and still do), but realized a call to ministry from an early age. However, due to some childhood trauma and bad theology, I felt too broken to be used by God – like I was a broken tool, useless.
God’s love is relentless. He never stopped calling me. It’s a long story, but I accepted his call and eventually received my degree in Ministry Leadership from Lee University. I am currently in seminary seeking my M.Div. After about a decade in ministry, Christen and I were called to serve at Refuge Church in May, 2022. We are joining the wonderful leadership already in place to lead Refuge into the Holy Spirit’s guidance for the future.
I married my wife, Christen, in 2006, and we have 3 smart, capable daughters who keep us on our toes!
I enjoy all things fitness related (especially CrossFit), RPG video games (Skyrim-all time fave), weird board games, coffee, all things fantasy and science-fiction (currently reading Mistborn series, LOTR-all time fave, GOT-close second), history, psychology, cultures, basketball, Christian mysticism, spiritual formation, indie-Christian music (John Guerra, Paper Route), space rock (Starset), and I won’t bore you further.
