Galatians: Flesh v. Spirit

This week we look at Galatians Chapter 5.  Paul says to STAND FIRM in our freedom.  Most of us believe that Jesus saves us FROM something, but we don’t often consider what we’ve been saved TO.  Paul says we’ve been saved TO love our neighbor.

Easier said than done right?  There’s this constant battle of our flesh, and the Spirit.  A dissonance between what we believe, and our actions.  The Spirit pointing us to Jesus, and the flesh hammering away with doubts and fears.

But the Gospel isn’t about do more, try harder.  We will never overcome our flesh.  It’s about plugging into a higher power, beyond ourselves, who has already overcome.
