Before & After // Peter

This week Pastor Davide wraps up his Before & After series by taking us on a journey through (of all things) The Lion King! Pastor David uses his favorite move to explore the before and after stories of one of the most beloved disciples, Peter. You might not think Peter has much in common with Simba, but Pastor David does a great job at proving us all wrong. He weaves together the stories of Simba and Peter, while also inviting us to reflect on our own journey of faith.

Peter’s relationship with Jesus had its ups and downs. Once declaring an unwavering loyalty to an outright denial of even knowing Jesus. Peter’s story can often mirror our own. Before the cross Peter deals with fear, shame, and self-doubt. Then after the resurrection he finds forgiveness, renewal, and restoration in the presence of his Savior.

In his message, Pastor David reminds us of our own before and after story. As you listen or watch be encouraged to reflect on who you were before and after Jesus. Meditate on the unyielding love and grace of Jesus, who finds us in our most broken state and offers us redemption. Peter found forgiveness and purpose in the aftermath of his failures, encouraging us to embrace our “Before and After” with courage.
