Perspective

1 Peter 2:11-3:12 What Peter is saying? What Peter is not saying? How we can live this text out in the environment we’ll find ourselves over the coming weeks and months? All the while, maintaining the eternal perspective that this world is not our home.

Living Stones

1 Peter 2:1-10 When a group faces trials, it can usually go 1 of 2 ways. The group can either unify and come together, around their struggles. Or, they can be divided and tore apart. Jesus is the living cornerstone of the church. He’s the foundational rock. And we are BEING BUILT into his spiritual house.

Weird

1 Peter 1:13-25 We don’t like standing out from the crowds. We want everyone to like us. Many of us never move past that middle-school mindset of trying to fit in. We still want to sit at the cool table. But Peter teaches us that the weird table is so much better.

Homesick

1 Peter 1:1-12 This week we launch into our multi-week study of 1 Peter. And what we see is that Peter doesn’t start off this letter with what the readers can do to fix their situation. He gives them a reminder of what Jesus has done for them, and a picture of hope for the future, for something beautiful. Because he knows that’s what’s going to transform them. That’s what’s going to sustain them.
