Our Giving Philosophy

At Refuge, we believe giving is an act of worship — not an obligation. Our philosophy is simple: do what you can, when you can. We take our lead from 2 Corinthians, where Paul says, “The gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have” (2 Cor. 8:12), and “Each of you should give what you’ve decided in your heart to give… for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7). We all go through seasons of abundance and seasons of needs, and that is okay. We simply invite you to donate as you’re able, with a joyful heart. Giving as a co-builder of Refuge, as we work towards love and justice in our community.
