Big Dreams. Big Plans. It's hard not to think that big equates to success. But success looks different…
Joy to the world
Hillsong Worship
In our final week of our Refocus series, Pastor Brian tackles a big one: Financial Health. Through this series we’ve looked at what it means to shift our focus from resolutions to intentions. All series long we’ve talking about intentional living. In this message, pastor Brian challenges us once again to shift that perspective when it comes to our financial health.
Hebrews 12:1-2 emphasizes the importance of fixing our eyes on Jesus in every aspect of our lives. Whether its our physical health, mental health, our relationships, or our finances. Even our financial choices are a reflection of our values and where our focus truly lies.
In the Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25 three servants received different amounts of money based on their abilities. The central lesson is that everything we have is given to us, not achieved. Whether it is time, talents, or treasures. They are ALL gifts from God. So we were encouraged in this message to be intentional with our finances. Not driven by fear, but by gratitude. Just as Jesus invested everything for our salvation, ALL of our choices (even financial ones) should reflect our thankfulness.
This parable is not not about money, but it’s also not about money! Pastor Brian reminds with its about investing everything we’ve been given, be it time, talents, grace, or the growth of our faith community. Our investment must me intentional, because its about making a positive impact on the world around us.
