This past Saturday night at Refuge Church, Lead Teacher Brian talked about Ephesians Chapter 6, which makes a reference to putting on the ‘Full Armor of God’. We’re in the middle of a spiritual battle, whether we want to admit it or not. God has given us the tools to fight this battle…but will we use them?
Saturday night at Refuge Church, Brian talked about spiritual maturity, and what that looks like in the life of a follower of Jesus. The Apostle Paul gives us some good instruction in the 4th chapter of his letter to the church in Ephesus . He instructs us to ‘Speak the truth in love, becoming in all ways like Christ’, but what does that really mean? Some people like to just tell the truth. And others only show love. It’s important to have balance.
Last Saturday night at Refuge Church, lead teacher Brian took us through Ephesians 3 as he talked about the ‘walls’ of segregation that we put up; not only in the Church, but also in our lives. Humans naturally gravitate towards tribalism, as we seek to elevate ourselves above each other. How do we avoid doing this? Christianity is the most inclusive tribe ever…and it’s because of Grace.
Have you ever had to knock on wood? What does that phrase even mean? This past Saturday night at Refuge Church, lead teacher Brian talked about common grace. We are saved by God’s Grace, through faith, and not by works. But do we really believe that? Check it out, as we explore the mystery that is grace.
On November 2nd, 2019 Refuge launched a 6-week study of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.
We kicked off that study with chapter 1, as we looked at the mystery of power. It’s an upside-down power. A power that gives up status and authority for love. A power that takes the most sinful human beings and turns them into something good. The power to say to Satan and his demons F you I won’t do what you tell me.
