Children & Youth Pastor
I strayed away from God during my college years. I thought that I could make my own path. I would have told you that I had a relationship with Him, but really it was only when I needed something and reached out in prayer. I kept pushing forward only to have Him keep shutting doors. I should have realized what was happening but I’m pretty stubborn.
I got married, we moved to SWFL and had kids. We started going to church only after our oldest came home from daycare and asked why we didn’t go to church. Smack! Right in the face!
We started going and before we knew it, we were all in. I mean really all in! We attended, we served, we went on mission trips, and we loved our church! But I knew that I need more. I was meant for more.
God’s timing is everything. In January of 2015, I was at a children’s ministry conference in TN. I found myself looking at the job listings board more than once. While I was there I got a message from long time friends Karen & Brian Culbertson who said they wanted to meet with us.
We did and Culbertson’s told us that they were going to plant a church and they wanted us to come and be a part of it. When Brian said that he wanted me to come and be the Children’s and Youth Pastor, it was as though God was finally opening that door he had been saving.
I love Children’s and Youth Ministry. It combines what I love the most- Jesus and kids. I love conversations that I get to have with them at all levels. I love getting to watch their faces when they hear a story or are doing a craft. They are the next generation of believers! One day they will be passing the Bible stories down and taking their kids to church. They are SO important!
I am so grateful every single day for the life that God has given me. I have an incredibly supportive husband, Geoff who shakes his head at me a lot but I know he has my back. I have two awesome daughters Chloe and Kylee who keep me humble on a daily (hourly) basis. I serve an awesome God who is faithful and shows up every single minute!
