At Jesus’ baptism, the voice of heaven spoke ONCE. But the voice of hell keeps going and going and going. What can we learn from Jesus’ battle with temptation? What weapons does the enemy have? What weapons do we have?

One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened, and the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.” – Luke 3:21-23
God is speaking to us today more than ever. He is speaking to us unmistakably, authoritatively, personally, when we read, hear, study and meditate on scriptures.
He didn’t have to submit but He did so anyway.
Jesus came as a baby; he lived a perfect life; he paid for the darkness in our hearts; and then after being placed in a tomb, another angel showed up, and said HE IS NOT HERE, HE HAS RISEN. And ever since for he was not there in the tomb, he’s been with every human being who calls upon his name.
“There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.”
Luke 2:36-38
“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
What are you Taking for Granted????
This week’s teaching was from Misfit Matt Podrasky, as we continue our organic approach to church.
And a very special spoken word from church member, Dwayne Jackson!
“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
